Frequently Asked Questions

Of course we can. Send us an email with your contact details and one of our Facilitators will call you. This is a free service.

We do, occasionally. Contact us for details.

Payment Plans are not typically offered, but we can discuss options for individuals funding their own training.

Very much so. PMADS is POPI Act Compliant. We share data with the SETA's for verification and certification and that's where the sharing ends. We do not share anything with third parties. The only exception is that when your training is sponsored by your employer, we are obliged to share with them your progress and assessment results.

Our Admin Team is traumatised after years of debates with friends and spouses enquiring, please don't. 😁

This is the Number we use to track your record, assessment and certificate in our systems. If you received a Welcome Letter when you attended the course, it was included in this letter. It is also used on your Certificate as the Certificate Number. If you don't have it, send an email to our Admin Team who will send it to you. They will need your Full Name, ID Number and name of the Course you attended. (You are assigned a Learner Number for each of your courses).

Subject to agreement by your sponsor, if your training was sponsored by a third party, we can get you an extension. Send an email to our Support Team. Include your full name, ID, Programme, Learner Number and the reason for the delay. They will get it done, at least once.

This is the document issued by the SETA confirming your achievement of a Skills Programme or Qualification. We send this to you with your Certificate, for most programmes. Keep this in a safe place, you will need it as evidence of your qualification when registering with a SETA, e.g. as an Assessor. For many of our programmes., we cannot issue a certificate until we have received the SOR.

SOR's are issued, by the SETA's, free of charge. A Skills Development Provider (SDP) should not be charging you for obtaining this document, however we have heard of SDP's charging for the effort to obtain re-prints from the SETA systems, we have no comment on this. PMADS will issue or reissue the SOR at no charge.

Send your full name and ID Number to our Admin Team and they will try to get you a copy. These documents are subject to SETA process, so there could be a delay.

This depends on the SETA schedule and their backlogs and volume of External Moderation requested by all the Providers in the industry. It can vary from a few weeks to a few months. There is no way to expedite this process at this time. We can assure you that we request verification by uploading your results within a day or two of being assessed competent.

We send the Certificates to the Sponsor. This is most often the employer, or the person who paid for the training. Contact the Sponsor.
If you paid for your training, contact us and we will follow up.

Yes. If you sponsored your own training, we could draw your certificate from our archives. We will re-issue an original. The current cost is R200 + VAT. If your training was sponsored by a third party, the re-issue will need to be authorised by them.

Our ETD Practitioner Certificates, such as Assessor, Facilitator Moderator, etc. are valid for life. That's the good news.

Some certificates in Health and Safety, such as First aid and Fire Fighting, do expire. This is prescribed by industry regulations and accrediting bodies. The expiry date is indicated on the certificate. The same applies to Lifting Machines, such as Forklifts and Cranes.

This process will require your Statement of Results, Qualifications, CV and a variety of other documents depending on the type of registration and the SETA. Most SETA's do this through an on-line portal and it is not the kind of task you can delegate, since you have all the information they will require. Contact the SETA directly for their requirements. Be ready to list the Unit Standards or Qualifications for which you want to register and to provide evidence that you are competent or qualified on these. Registration is free at this time, and you can extend your scope at any time.

Registration is usually valid for three years and the re-registration process is much the same as registration. Note that while your registration will expire, your qualifications do not. For example, if you register as an Assessor, you can re-register with the same Assessor Qualification after three years - you do not need to renew your Assessor qualification.
